As a kid, is there anything better than finding a loose tooth in your mouth? Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s 5-year-old daughter Kaavia James just hit this huge childhood milestone, and she celebrated it in an empowering new way!

In a new video on Instagram, Kaavia shows off her first lost tooth for the camera, looking amazingly fierce in her leopard-print leggings, white t-shirt, and holey grin. Later, the clip skips ahead to nighttime. Kaavia and Union are wearing matching strawberry-print pajamas as Kaavia dictates a letter to the Tooth Fairy.

“Dear Tooth Fairy,” Kaavia begins, as Union jots it down, later telling her mom, “I’m so excited!”

Kaavia shows off her adorable letter for the camera, which reads, “I can’t wait for you come and pick up my tooth. And I can’t wait to you to come tonight! I’m excited! [Heart] Kaavia James.” Aww!

Next, Kaavia carefully places her baby tooth in a heart-shaped tooth holder, which I’m sure makes it much easier for the Tooth Fairy to find than if it was just under a pillow! After Kaavia shows off her new smile, with the missing bottom tooth, in a mirror with her mom and dad, she listens to her mom read a book called Tallulah the Tooth Fairy CEO by Tamara Pizzoli. This modern tooth fairy book that’s all about empowering little leaders. (We are absolutely stealing this idea!!)

The next morning, Union wakes up her daughter. “Do you think the Tooth Fairy came?” she whispers to a still half-asleep Kaavia. The little girl just nods and smiles. She walks over to her desk, and sitting on top of a gorgeous drawing of Kaavia is a note and $20 cash.

“Dear Kaavia,” it reads. “This is your Tooth Fairy CEO Tallulah! I am so proud of you for taking care of your teeth! I know your parents + your village is proud of you, you have very healthy teeth and the most beautiful smile! We love you, Kaavia! $20.”

Kaavia is so happy, telling her mom, “When I get to school, I’m going to go up to the teacher and show my tooth!” She’s too adorable, we can’t stand it!

“When losing something pays 🤑,” the cute video is captioned. Wade commented, “😢 my baby is growing up fast.”

Another friend or family member wrote, “She literally just showed me her loose tooth on Saturday😭😭 I am like crying, also when did the tooth fairy start giving out $20?👀👀”

Others couldn’t believe how fast Kaavia is growing up. “Look! Our internet niece is growing up!🥺🥺💕💕” one person wrote.

“I mean y’all had her just yesterday right 😮,” another wrote. It feels like it!

Kaavia (aka, Shady Baby) turned 5 in November, where she celebrated with a perfect princess party. “November 7, 2018 our dream became a reality and our princess @kaaviajames was born,” the Bring It On star wrote. “I cannot believe she’s already 5?!?! She is pure light and love and brings so much joy to everyone she encounters.”

Union continued, “She loves to sing, dance, play Barbie’s and reaaaalllllly loves hanging with her best friends!! Sometimes she’s like a roast comedian and sometimes we find her praying quietly (Kaav LOVES the Lord 🙏🏾) She is truly 1 of 1 and the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Kaavia started 2024 off in the best way, and we loved getting to see just how Union and Wade introduce the Tooth Fairy to her. What a fun family!
