G-Eazy’s Rep Responds to Claims That Halsey Wrote a Poem About Him in Her Book

• G-Eazy's rep responded to claims that a poem ("Lighthouse") in Halsey's new book is about him.

Halsey just released a new anthology called I Would Leave Me If I Could, and it includes a poem called "Lighthouse" that some fans speculate is about G-Eazy—which his team has since shut down.

Halsey specifically doesn't reveal the identity of the person in the poem, but it doesn't exactly paint a positive portrait of the man in question. Per E! News, Halsey writes, "He would stuff his nose with cocaine / for days on end / until the rims of his nostrils / were caked with white."

She also discusses an experience with domestic abuse, writing "he would put his bleeding hand around my neck" and say "'I'm going to f--king kill you.'" She adds that she "would take his hand / off my neck gently / and wrap my arms around his head... / and whisper that it would be okay."

Due to fan speculation, G-Eazy's publicist shut down claims that the poem could be about him in a statement to Page Six, saying, "We understand everyone’s desire to continually link them for sensationalist purposes, but she did not name any names, so for anyone to speculate is just irresponsible."

Again, Halsey hasn't revealed who the poem is about, but she did touch on the personal nature of her book on Instagram, writing: "Today is the day. Years in the making. My first collection of poetry 'I Would Leave Me If I Could' is out. It’s things I ruminate on, fixate, miss, cry, regret, re-live and overcome. I love being a weird popstar. But I’ll always be a writer first and foremost. Thank you."
