The actor was just tapped by Tory Burch to be the designer’s namesake brand’s latest ambassador; she was cast by Sony to star in its upcoming Marvel film Madame Web; annnnd she made car repairing instantly cool thanks to her viral TikTok account. Yet, in the midst of all of this, the Euphoria star also got engaged (!!) to longtime boyfriend Jonathan Davino. And since we know that you, too, are obsessed with All Things Sydney™️, we’ve done the stalking research on her now-fiancé so you don’t have to. We take thank you cards in the mail.

Apparently the proposal was “intimate”

On March 2, People confirmed that Sydney and Jonathan were engaged just a few days after she was spotted with a ring on THAT finger while out and about with her beau in Los Angeles.

Even though Sydney’s reps did not immediately respond to People’s request for comment, the internet collectively lost it even before the news was official.

By late March, a source told E! News, “Sydney is still on cloud nine over her recent engagement to Jonathan.” The insider went on: “It was a very intimate proposal, and she had no idea it was coming. They are really private about their relationship but are a great couple together.” The source also noted that Sydney isn’t rushing to the altar, mentioning that she wants a “long engagement” and is “really focused on work.” Thankfully, “Jonathan has been very supportive over the years,” said the source.

He’s 13 years older than her

Jonathan is 37 years old, while we know that Sydney is 24. So if the math is mathing, that means he’s 13 years older than her and I’m not not here for it!

He’s an entrepreneur

In 2013, Jonathan was the owner of now-closed Chicago restaurants Mista Pizza and Pompei Xpress, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. He is an heir to the city’s storied pizza place Pompei, which opened in Chicago in 1909. Now, Jonathan is a restauranteur and seems to have gotten his entrepreneurial spirit honest, considering his family also owns vaporizer design and packaging companies 14th Round and Final Bell. Okay, versatility.

He lives in Chicago

This tracks. Not only has his family been linked to the city for more than a century, but if you sleuth around on the internet for more than literally 0.5 seconds, you’ll find for yourself that Jonathan reportedly lives in Chicago. It’s also where all of his restaurants are.

However, Sydney also verrry sneakily confirmed her beau’s home base in an interview with Elite Daily in December 2019. When asked what neighborhoods of Hollywood she’d like to live in, she actually cited Chicago as being one of the two places she can see herself settling down (the other being the Amalfi Coast, which, okay, same).

“I have a place [in Chicago],” she said in the interview. “It’s like my getaway place.” And by “place,” Sydney meant a whole house. Yep! Then, when asked who she knows in the Windy City, Sydney cheekily replied, “A friend.” Oop!

Jonathan is pretty ~low-key~

TBH, this isn’t shocking at all since Sydney told us herself that she doesn’t “date people in the spotlight.” She continued, “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest.”

That said, Jonathan’s normalness doesn’t mean he’s insecure about his famous fiancé’s accolades. “I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh, no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back,’” she explained. Love that for her!

They were first spotted together nearly four years ago

Sydney and Jonathan were first linked in 2018 when they were photographed looking super in love at an Emmys party in Los Angeles. Then, just one month later, they were spotted again at an InStyle and Kate Spade dinner shindig. But to date, Sydney still hasn’t publicly confirmed their ’ship...not even a soft launch on socials!

However, paps have since scoped Sydney and Jonathan out on luxury vacations in Maui and sitting courtside at basketball games—ya know, just normal couple things!

They’re v comfortable around each other 🥺

Sydney also revealed in her Cosmo cover story that, “I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day.” Awww.
