How does it work?

  • It's more than just a video chat with your local handyman. An augmented video chat service integrated into the Frontdoor app that allows repair service experts to meet, see, and connect with members via virtual, on-demand appointments. “Everyone wants to speak to a real person when they have an issue, and Frontdoor not only offers this but has made it easy with new tech,” explains Rian Buckley Goodwin. “The Frontdoor app has proprietary features—including AR—to help homeowners and tradesman meet and interact virtually to share and review any home-related issue or questions.”

Frontdoor experts can easily capture any model or serial number with a StreemShot® photo and built-in StreemVision® AI, which allows quick diagnosis of issues and recommending the correct part or fix for an appliance or issue around the home. The repair experts can accommodate a wide array of specialties, so you can get the help you need without investing the time and money into an on-site visit.

  • Experts and homeowners can access notes and photographs. During the session, the pros can easily take and share high-resolution StreemShot® photos and a video recording of the session, available via the app for members to review after their call. If you need to order a part, you'll be able to reference the notes from your session.

  • Real-time repairs and access to a network of contractors in your area. Experts can diagnose and possibly fix your problem right then and there, but if help is needed to perform necessary repairs, Experts provide a list of vetted, pre-qualified expert contractors in your area.
