Furry Friends: Elisa can easily put a smile on your face!

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) —  Each week WFXR News highlights adoptable pets filling up animal shelters across Southwest and Central Virginia.

This week, on Tuesday, Apr. 16, Stephanie Wright with the Franklin County Animal Shelter introduced Elisa to Furry Friends!

Elisa is an 11-month-old ray of sunshine! She loves to cuddle and meet people; she has never met a stranger! Wright says Elisa is housebroken and walks great on a leash. She also does well with other dogs and cats.

Elisa suffers from a condition called megaesophagus. Wright says dogs with megaesophagus can live a normal life but need upright feeding. Elisa uses a Bailey chair for feeding, which her adopter will receive once she finds her forever home.

Wright describes Elisa as “a winner.” She overcame parvo and is thriving despite her megaesophagus diagnosis. She would love a forever home that can give her all the care and cuddles she deserves!

If you’re interested in adopting Elisa, the Franklin County Animal Shelter is located at 81 State Street in Rocky Mount. The shelter is closed on Sundays and Mondays. It’s open from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Wednesdays, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
