Need a new furry friend? Adoption fees at Midstate SPCA location drop for one day only

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – If you’re looking for a new furry friend to call your own, this weekend may be a good time to do so.

The Lancaster branch of the Pennsylvania SPCA is lowering adoption fees to $10 this Saturday only.

All dogs and cats six months and older qualify.

It’s part of the nationwide Empty the Shelter effort, which has helped 140,000 pets find new homes.

“It’s always really exciting to see dogs go home and and just to see the families excited to bring home a new companion, especially with summer rolling around,” Kisha Reinmiller, site director , said. “Everyone’s excited to get out and do things, and having a dog is a perfect opportunity for that.”

If you’re looking to adopt, everyone in the household needs to be present at the time.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations and are spayed or neutered.

The Lancaster center is open from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at 848 South Prince Street.
