Funny Basset Hound Begs Cat Sibling to Play Just Like a Little Kid

As annoying as siblings can be sometimes, they can also be each other's best friends. Whether it's twins who are as close as they are competitive or siblings with a 20-year-age gap who watch each other grow, it's impossible to deny the bond that sibling relationships can bring. And the best part? No two relationships are the same! Some brothers and sisters become close through shared experiences, while others work hard to find shared interests to enjoy together. There's no right or wrong way to be a loving sibling or family member!

Well--I can think of one cat who may not agree. The uninterested tabby cat was minding his own business, lounging on the couch, when Sophia, his Basset Hound sister, decided it was time to play. Let's just say--he didn't agree! Watching these siblings squabble could put a smile on any face, as the pup's December 7 TikTok video proves. Just try not to laugh!

OMG! Sophia is just too cute...but don't tell her brother I said that. The playful dog will stop at nothing to get her sibling to notice her, but at the same time, it seems like the kitty is also determined to ignore her. Yep, that's definitely how siblings operate!

Needless to say, the furry friends' owner got a kick out of their hilarious interaction. The silly Basset Hound is no stranger to playing with her feline siblings (yep, there's more than one!) but this stubborn tabby cat is playing hard to get. In that case, the pillow will simply have to do!

Cats and Dogs Aren't Enemies Like the Media Portrays

@Basset_hound_sophia and her grumpy feline siblings are a great example of the kind of relationships dogs and cats can have when they learn to live together. Even though cartoons and mainstream media prefer to portray these species as nemesis or mortal enemies, there's no reason why these animals can't coexist. Many dogs and cats will want to play together, like this hound dog and her brother, while others will live in peace but never really interact.

Of course, your dog's and cat's breed may partially determine how their relationship will go. Dogs with a high prey drive are more likely to chase and play with their feline siblings, while gentle giant dogs like Newfoundlands may not care in the slightest. Clearly, playful pup Sophia fits into the former category! With multiple cats around to play with in the French countryside, though, I'm sure she finds a playmate more often than not.
