Funfetti Now Comes in a Chocolate Cake Version, So Get Ready to Bake
Whether you prefer a chocolate, vanilla, yellow, or Funfetti cake, nothing beats a homemade birthday cake. Something tells us that a lot of people are going to opt for Pillsbury’s newest variety, because Funfetti Chocolate & Cupcake Mix sounds too good to pass up.
Classic Funfetti mix makes a vanilla cake with candy bits mixed in. Don’t ask us why it tastes even better compared to a plain cake, but it just works! So this new Funfetti mix is simply a chocolate version of it.
“Funfetti Chocolate Cake and Cupcake Mix adds a yummy pop of color and chocolate deliciousness to brighten up your celebration!” the description says.
Instagram account @foodiewiththebeasts was among the first to find the chocolate Funfetti and posted a picture of it at Acme. According to the packaging, the 15.25-ounce box makes a 13-by-9-inch cake, two 8-inch cakes, two 9-inch cakes, a Bundt cake, or 24 cupcakes.
While you can top your cake or cupcakes with any frosting, you have a lot of Funfetti frosting options. There is a Chocolate Fudge one (because you can never have enough chocolate), but there is also the classic Confetti Funfetti Vanilla, as well as a variety of colored vanilla frosting and Fluffy Frost Funfetti Vanilla Marshmallow frosting.
