Full "Lion King" Trailer Shows Timon and Pumbaa Singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"

The animation is gorgeous.

The first full trailer for Disney's remake of The Lion King is finally here, bringing with it all the beautiful animation and iconic scenes we've had hints of in the teasers leading up to this moment — and a few moments of levity in the dramatic tone of the film.

The new trailer follows young Simba on his journey from cub to leader, dealing with the villain Scar (voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor) and hearing wisdom from his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones): "While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give."

But despite the epic tone of the trailer, we still see some light and hilarious scenes, like Timon and Pumbaa trotting along while singing the intro to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." — a moment that literally never gets old.

The Lion King, which is made in the same style as pseudo-live-action films like The Jungle Book, will also have voice-acting from a who's who of important celebrities, including Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, John Oliver and more.

It looks like come July 19, 2019, when the movie hits theaters, we're in for a real treat. Watch the entire official trailer for The Lion King below:
