If like us, you have already raced to the end of Red, White and Royal Blue were a little confused over any details, then this is the full ending explained of the film.

How does Red, White and Royal Blue end?

After Alex and Henry repair their relationship and vow to stay together with that incredibly sweet dance in the V&A Museum, it seems like everything is going to be ok between the pair. Yeah not quite.

Alex and Henry's private emails are leaked to the press, (most likely by Miguel) the pair are desperate to communicate, with Alex now back in the States, but are banned by their separate teams from talking. During a televised interview Miguel (Juan Castano) is asked how he managed to read 72 emails and write up an article within hours of the emails being posted, heavily suggesting Miguel is responsible for the leak.

Alex shares a public statement with the press about his relationship with Henry, whilst Henry heads to Buckingham Palace, where he is berated by his brother Prince Philip (Thomas Flynn) and listens to advisers.

Thankfully, Alex and Henry aren't kept apart for too long as it turns out Zahra (Sarah Shahi) and Henry's aide Shaan (Akshay Khanna) have been sleeping together and therefore have phones for emergency purposes to contact each other.

Alex and Henry finally get to chat and Alex reveals he's coming to London. After a cute day together playing piano, the pair head to Buckingham Palace, along with Bea (Ellie Bamber) to meet with King James III (Stephen Fry).

King James reveals he has read Henry and Alex's emails and has no doubt that the pair are in love, but that Henry's primary duty is to the crown and his people, and that he must uphold a traditional royal image. Henry and Alex ask why Henry must uphold this image, to which the King says the British people will not accept a prince who is "homosexual".

However, a large crowd gathers outside Buckingham Palace, with Bea telling the room crowds have also gathered in Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Liverpool, all in support of Prince Henry and Alex's relationship. Err, so yeah that definitely proves King James' point wrong.

Henry defies his grandfather and says he will not hide in shame. King James asks Henry to seriously consider if this is what he wants to do, as there is no turning back if he does. Henry says: "I certainly hope not" and he and Alex head out to wave at the crowds.

A week later Henry and Alex are in Washington D.C. awaiting the results of the electoral vote to determine if Alex's mum Ellen Claremont (Uma Thurman) will be re-elected President. The pair go off for a private moment as Alex gets nervous about the result, however it appears he has nothing to worry about as Ellen has won Texas, and therefore the presidency.

After celebrating, Alex asks Henry if he stills has his key which is the key to Alex's family home in Texas. The final scene of the film sees the pair head back to Texas and into Alex's home.

So cute! We didn't want it to end.
