Fruit Juice Hair Is Trending on Instagram

For a refreshing color change.

If you're not sure what color to dye your hair next, your favorite food can always serve as an inspiration. At least that's what Instagrammers have been doing for a while now. Blackberry hair was all the rage on the 'gram earlier this month, and before that, there was the delicious-looking peanut butter and jelly hair trend. But now, people have moved on to drinks, and fruit juice hair has apparently become a thing.

An Instagram post spotted by Marie Claire from hairstylist Alisha McAlister presents the new style. "I’m not sure what to call this!" she wrote. "It’s a mix of blended fruit colors. I started this hair color thinking I was doing a simple base and tone. Then my amazing client surprised me! She said, 'I want something different!' So yay for stylist choice night! Pops of Ignite Violet and Red and then I honestly toned the whole thing with Manic Panic Pro Pastel-izer, three grams of Divine Wine, and six grams of Smokescreen. This is such a fun color! It’s a great way to introduce vibrant and pastel colors and the client not get fired for it!"

The colors are as varied as juices themselves. One photo shows bright yellow and pink strands wrapped up in a beautiful braid, like orange juice and fruit punch. Another is purple and light brown, like grape and apple juice. One is red like cranberry juice, another is red-orange like mango juice, and yet another is peach like, well, peach juice. The sky's the limit. Anyone else feeling thirsty...and totally inspired to make a color change? Count me in.
