The airline just a launched a crew base at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Frontier Airlines is on the move with new flights from the rock'n'roll capital of the world.

The low-cost carrier announced Wednesday that it will open a new crew base at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in March of 2024, and is celebrating by offering $29 discount fares to the 17 destinations the base serves. The airline will

According to the announcement, Frontier has experienced a 53 percent increase in passenger capacity over the last year, and operates flights from Cleveland to Atlanta, Cancún, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Juan, Tampa, and more.

The $29 promotional fares are valid for purchase through Nov. 20, 2023, for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays through Dec. 20, 2023.

Airlines utilize crew bases as a hub for pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance staff to operate from and provide service to a variety of destinations. The model is often known as “hub and spoke” and can help airlines manage costs and aircraft more efficiently. As part of the new base, the airline is actively hiring Flight Attendants, and interested candidates can learn more on Frontier’s hiring website.

“A crew base also positively impacts customers as it helps to support smooth flight operations. Our new crew base reflects our commitment to continued growth at CLE as we bring even more of our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ to area residents,” Frontier Airlines’ CEO Barry Biffle said in a statement.

Cleveland is known for its vibrant arts and cultural scene including being home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Cleveland Orchestra, and The Cleveland Museum of Art. Cleveland’s sports teams including the Cleveland Browns in the NFL, the Cleveland Guardians in the MLB, and the Cleveland Monsters draw visitors from around the world.
