Frontier Is Offering a BOGO Flight Deal So Students Can Fly Free

Last week, U-Haul announced that it would offer free 30 day storage to all college students who were displaced as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. This week, Frontier is stepping its game up and offering a special deal exclusive to college students. Although, according to its website, anyone with a valid and working .edu email address (whether or not they’re still actually a student) can take advantage of this deal. So if you still have access to the ol' college email, listen up.

Here are the deets of “Students Fly Free”: Students who book a one-way or round trip qualifying Discount Den flight before March 23rd, can get one flight free. Simply apply the promo code FLYFREE at checkout and score a free flight. Essentially, this " free flight" means a traveler can add another traveler for no extra charge on the same flight, which is perfect if you're traveling with a friend! However, there are specific "Friends Fly Free" dates that qualify for the BOGO deal. Only one-way or roundtrip flights occurring on Monday through Thursday, or on a Saturday, up until May 31, 2020 are applicable. These nonstop flights must only be to destinations within the continental United States. Also, the following blackout dates apply: May 22 to 26, 2020. Finally, these flights must be purchased through the Discount Den Fare Club.

Now you're probably wondering what exactly the Discount Den Fare Club is? Basically this is the airline's savings subscription service. Members of the service are granted access to special fares, among other benefits, when booking Frontier flights. While there is a $59.99 membership fee (and those interested in taking advantage of the BOGO flight deal will have to enroll and pay this) the airline is offering another special deal for college students who sign up before March 23rd. College students who enroll will also receive a $100 voucher for future travel. This voucher promotion applies for new members who sign up with their .edu address. Note: the voucher will only be valid through April 15, 2020 to May 31, 2020.

In short: if a student purchases a Discount Den membership, and books a qualifying one-way ticket, he or she is eligible to bring along a friend for free, and will score a travel voucher. Not too shabby, although flying during the middle of a pandemic can be a tad nerve-wracking. Fortunately, these airlines are currently waiving flight change fees if you need to change a flight.
