Frontier Airlines' Routes and Destinations

In a country as big as the U.S., domestic air travel often holds the allure of a complicated board game: When you master it, you’re filled with a stirring sense of accomplishment.

When you don’t, it can feel like the whole game is rigged against you.

But things are looking up. Earlier this summer, Frontier Airlines announced a major expansion to its network — 21 new cities, to be exact. The change was brought on by Frontier’s desire to “serve even more of America” and “make flying a truly affordable option.”

Frontier's New Routes and Destinations

Passengers benefiting from the expansion hail from a diverse range of destinations, with new routes targeting places like Boise, Idaho; Buffalo, New York; and San Antonio, Texas.

A significant portion of the expansion has been focused on increasing access to warm weather destinations for winter. That means more flights — at affordable rates — to Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and Fort Myers. And if you assumed Frontier’s list of tropical getaways were limited to just the U.S., think again. Cancún flights are also being added.

As recently as September, Frontier Airlines announced an additional nine new routes, connecting 13 cities by May of 2018.

For Frontier, serving more of America doesn’t just mean the big cities like New York City and San Francisco. Rather, second- and third-tier cities are given a fair chance at a cheap vacation.

Happen to live near Trenton, New Jersey? You can now fly nonstop to Miami. Tired of winter in St. Louis, Missouri? Hightail it to Tampa.

In total, the Denver-based airline has expanded its dirt cheap fares, which typically hover between just $39 and $59 each way, to 82 cities total. By the summer of 2018, the airline hopes to offer 314 nonstop routes, cementing its reputation as one of the best-connected budget carriers around.

Frontier Airlines Hubs

Frontier's main hub is Denver, Colorado. According to the airline, its most popular Denver-based routes are flights between the Mile High City and Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Orlando, Portland, and Santa Ana.

While the airline only has one hub, it does have a number of focus cities. Travelers can find a number of flights with Frontier Airlines from Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia.

Frontier Airlines Fares

When booking flights with Frontier Airlines, the fare you see is actually the fare you pay. Though low-cost airlines have a reputation for nickel-and-diming customers with a dizzying array of add-on fees, Frontier simplifies the process.

Through WORKSsm, its customizable travel tool, passengers can purchase a one-way, refundable ticket as low as $59 that includes a carry-on and a checked bag, in addition to waived change fees and priority boarding.
