UPDATE: July 12, 2020, 1:10 p.m. EST—Actor Heather Morris has asked to join the search for her friend and former Glee costar Naya Rivera, who went missing and is presumed dead following a boating trip with her son in Southern California’s Lake Piru.

“My name is Heather Morris, I’m Nayas close friend and co-worker, and I’m trying to conduct an on foot search and rescue mission along with a small group of friends at Lake Piru,” she wrote on Twitter early Sunday morning, July 12, in response to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

“I understand your team is doing EVERYTHING in their power, but we are feeling helpless, powerless and want to help in any way,” Morris continued. “I have left a message with the Department of Rescue and Air today, and I will call again tomorrow. Thank you.”

TMZ also reports that Rivera’s family and ex-husband Ryan Dorsey visited the site where she disappeared on Saturday, July 11. In photos the actor’s parents and siblings can be seen praying in the water and comforting one another along with Dorsey.

UPDATE: July 11, 2020, 2:11 p.m. EST—Actor Tahj Mowry opened up about his past relationship with Naya Rivera and continued love and admiration for the actor, who went missing earlier this week while boating with her four-year-old son. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday afternoon that the Glee actor is presumed dead, though the search continues.

“My sweet Naya—to say that I am devastated would be an understatement. This is a nightmare. Everyday gets harder. However, I am holding onto hope that you will be found,” Mowry wrote on Instagram on July 10. “We grew up together. We became adults together. We experienced so many firsts together. You were my first experience with everything; love, intimacy, heartbreak. We broke each others hearts and then mended them back together…more than once.

“I will never not think of you,” he continued. “No woman has ever measured up what you gave me or how you made me feel. I’ve never liked to admit it but I have never stopped loving you. A part of me always wished for the day where God would bring us back together to be what we dreamt we could have been.”

Glee star Naya Rivera has been missing in California since yesterday, July 8, when a pontoon boat she rented was found drifting on Lake Piru in Ventura County, with her four-year-old son alone and asleep on board.

“There’s a lot of challenges in a reservoir this size, at times with visibility,” Sheriff’s Captain Eric Buschow said in a press conference. “I don’t have details yet as to the depth of the area where the boat was found or what conditions they’re encountering out there.”

The search for Rivera is currently still underway.

Now many of her friends, former costars, and fans are speaking out and praying for her safe return.

Her ex, Big Sean, liked a number of tweets about Rivera, including this one with phone numbers for people to call if they have any information.

Rivera’s Glee costar Heather Morris—who played Brittany to her Santana—posted on her Instagram Stories. “We need all the prayers we can get to bring our Naya back home to us,” she wrote. “We need your love and light.”
