Friends Is Being Reimagined With an All-Black Cast

Like You, Jennifer Aniston Is Super Bummed That the 'Friends' Reunion Is Still Delayed

The HBO Max special has been postponed again.

You wanted a Friends reunion? Well, we’re getting two (sort of). We’ll have to wait a while for the mysterious event with the original cast, but don’t fret, the content you crave is coming at you tomorrow night.

In episode 2 of The Zoom Where It Happens, following up the Golden Girls episode from two weeks ago is a very special reimagining of Friends with an all-Black cast.

If the event graphic is to be believed, Sterling K. Brown will take on the role of Ross (David Schwimmer), Ryan Michelle Bathe, who happens to be Brown’s wife, will play Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Uzo Aduba will play Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Aisha Hinds will step into Monica’s (Courteney Cox) perfectly polished shoes, Kendrick Sampson will profess his distaste for sharing food as Joey (Matt LeBlanc), and Jeremy Pope will play Chandler (Matthew Perry). Could I be more excited?

Salli Richardson-Whitfield is directing the performance, and Gabrielle Union (who appeared in one episode of the original sitcom in 2001) is hosting.

The one-night event is in support of non-profit organization When We All Vote. Whip up your best English Trifle (maybe skip the beef this time) and sign up while you still can!
