Friendly One-Eyed Samoyed Wanders NYC Subway Car Meeting and Delighting New Friends
Taking public transportation might be more accessible in some places, like New York City, but that doesn't make it stress-free. In fact, commuting can be downright irritating, but spotting the occasional four-legged passenger can make it all worthwhile.
We couldn't help but smile when we saw actor and comedian Hannah Solow's run-in with an adorable dog on the NYC subway. The August 17 video from her Instagram account, @babymcgoo, has already racked up nearly 5 million views, and it's easy to see why. This Samoyed dog is so popular!

We likely just witnessed the greatest subway ride in existence, and there's no convincing us otherwise. This sweet doggie couldn't have been friendlier, and the strangers on the train were just as friendly. The audible 'aww' had us smiling from ear to ear!
"That is the mayor of the subway," commented @the_kelly_faulkner. He totally is! This friendly dog is more than willing to fraternize with his doting public, especially when there are delicious dog treats involved.
Speaking of treats, we loved the communication and respect between the dog's owner and the woman who offered the pup a treat. She gets major brownie points for asking permission! Many people know to give service dogs space and ask permission before approaching a dog you don't know, but it can be too easy to cross boundaries when the dog and owner are so relaxed.
As awesome as the woman with the magic purse full of treats is, we're so curious about how this serendipitous moment occurred in the first place. Does she always have treats in her bag or was this a lucky coincidence?
When another commenter agreed, "the lady who asked before offering the treat is a big W," @jordan,eilishh noticed, "she doesn’t have dog treats. She said she bought beef jerky from the store." We're so glad someone has better hearing than we do! This wonderful series of events truly couldn't have unfolded more perfectly. Hannah was so lucky to have this fluffy dog encounter!
