In case you haven't noticed, there's a new Burberry in town.

The British heritage label — known for its checked patterns and storied trench coats — got a makeover from new Creative Director Daniel Lee, who joined in September of last year. From his debut Fall 2023 show to the most recent runway in London, one thing is evident: Lee is putting a fresh spin on Burberry's classic plaid print.

The newness took some getting used to for me, though the original check pattern remains a favorite. So I'm enamored by the vibrant, yellow version featured on this cashmere scarf. With winter's (outrageous) sunset nearing 4:30 p.m., it feels better than ever to wear something fun like this that's cozy, bright and easy to throw on. My nearly all-black wardrobe makes a burst of color practically necessary. Shout-out to dopamine dressing (and TikTokers teaching me the many ways to style a scarf).

For the fan of Lee's new look for Burberry or the luxury-lover who wants something just right for the season, it's an ideal winter accessory. It's a splurge, surely, but pales in comparison to that far-less-practical, viral Balenciaga towel skirt.
