Frenchie’s Protest Over Mom Driving by ‘Whataburger’ Is Cracking People Up

French bulldogs are known for being quite vocal, but Frenchie Walter Geoffrey takes it to a whole new level. Walter reminds me of a grouchy old man or sullen teenager who always has something to say if things don't go their way or when they don't get what they want. Walter's mom shared a video of him in the car with her on Saturday, April 13th, and it's clear right away that he is not happy.

The clip is short, and it shows Walter barking and upset about something. What is he upset about? His mom drove past Whataburger without stopping. Make sure your sound is on because you don't want to miss Walter's indignant protests!

He wanted his burger! Who can blame him? I get the same way when I'm hangry and want something to eat! I love how in her caption Walter's mom said that he recognizes the Whataburger sign and that yes, she ended up turning back around to get him his pup patty! Walter's fans got a kick out of it too. @Donna said, "I agree with Walter on this one!" @Jasmine pointed out, "The other dog is tired of him LOL!" and @Andrew Baumgarter spoke for all of us when he said, "I actually would be upset if he didn’t have a reaction! I love these videos!"

How Are Frenchies and Pugs Different?

Every time I watch one of Walter's videos, people leaving comments always think he's a Pug and not a French Bulldog. I get it - the breeds look very similar to me, too. But take a closer look and you'll notice that there are some big differences between the two.

Do a quick search for a photo of a Frenchie and a Pug. Take a look at their ears and you'll see the first big difference. Pugs have rounded, floppy ears while French Bulldogs have “bat ears” that stand naturally straight up and are much larger than their heads. Their tails are also different: Frenchies' tails are short and straight while Pugs have adorable curly, pig-like tails.

Their energy levels are different as well. Frenchies are known for their athleticism and pugs are more low-key and chill. For as loud as Walter is, believe it or not Pugs tend to be louder and more vocal. Frenchies are spunky and like to be the boss, which can make them less compatible with other pets or small children. They also have a shorter lifespan than that of Pugs; they live an average of 9-11 years while Pugs can live 12-14 years.

As with all dog breeds, there are pros and cons that go with them. While one of these dog breeds is not "better" than the other, one might be better suited for your family and lifestyle. Make sure to do your research before choosing the pet that's right for you.
