Freerider Nails Burly, Loose Chute In Desert
In recent years, women have been progressing incredibly in the world of freeride. In an incredibly short amount of time, women's freeride went mainstream from humble beginnings. One of the leaders of this movement is Micayla Gatto.
Watch her descend a terrifyingly steep chute in the Utah Desert below.
In this video, Gatto drops into a steep chute and rides down it. Chutes like these are hard because there is no way to stop, and some like this one have large obstacles at the bottom. Riders must control their speed the best they can. Gatto rides this chute flawlessly.
Micayla Gatto is one of the pioneers of the women’s freeride movement. She was one of the main founders of the Red Bul Formation freeride event that was meant for women to get ready for Rampage. Though women were controversially not invited this year, the ball appears to be rolling in that direction.
She is also famous for mocking bro culture in mountain biking in the iconic IFHT video Ferda Girls. Watch it below.
Gatto was one of the most influential in that trend. Hopefully, she will get to compete in the big show before too long.
