Freeride Legend Ryan Howard Stars in New Web Series

Ryan “R-Dog” Howard is a professional freerider who has been on the scene for many years.

As mountain bike media changes, R-Dog is staunchly old school. Watch episode one of his web series Dog Daze documenting a trip to New Zealand below.

Dog Daze, a project for Trek, is Howard's “love letter to the freeride edits of yore.” Employing a “dad cam” to capture b roll, R-Dog impeccably presents the vibes of his trip to New Zealand.

Howard was joined by fellow Trek athletes Caroline Buchanan, Finley Kirschenmann, Casey Brown, and Kirsten Van Horne. The group hit iconic New Zealand spots like Dreamline and the Gorge Road dirt jumps.

Ryan Howard has been a longtime rider for Trek. After getting his start as a stylish local at the Post Office Jumps in Aptos, California, R-Dog became famous for his role alongside Brandon Semenuk in the popular Life Behind Bars series.

In 2023, Howard had a segment in the Roadkills movie, another full-length movie documenting a friend group’s BC road trip.
