On Tuesday (again, that’s today), you can grab a free cone with no purchase necessary from all participating Ben and Jerry’s locations. You can head into a physical location anytime between noon and 8 p.m. on April 16 to claim your free treat.
Ben and Jerry’s helpfully provided fans with a few “hacks” to make the most of a warm and sunny Free Cone Day.
First, the ice cream company recommends giving ample thought to your flavor of choice. Then, “leave your wallet at home,” seeing as you won’t need it at Ben and Jerry’s. “Bring an activity” to go along with your cone, which also means “wear comfy shoes.” Most importantly, “bring your appetite.”
Ben and Jerry’s Free Cone Day debuted in 1979 as a way for the company to thank their loyal followers. By 2015, the company had given away a whopping 1 million scoops over 36 Free Cone Days across the globe.
