Free runner’s clinic coming to Horseheads

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — If you enjoy running and are looking for some helpful tips to perform better, then Arnot Health has a free clinic at the end of May just for that.

A free runner’s clinic is coming to Horseheads for runners of all ages to ask questions and learn helpful techniques and recommendations to help people have a better running experience.

The clinic will allow attendees to have an individual session with a physical therapist for muscle assessment. At the same time, the staff will recommend stretching, strengthening, and stabilization exercises to correct muscle imbalances.

Runners can ask staff questions about proper running form, footwear, and injury prevention.

Runners are asked to wear or bring their usual running footwear, as the therapist will be able to help further by seeing the wear pattern on the shoes.

The clinic will be held on Friday, May 31, at 4 p.m. in the rehabilitation services department in the Horseheads Medical Office Building at 100 John Roemmelt Drive.

The event is free, but registration is required, you can register by calling the rehabilitation department at Arnot Health at 607-737-7804 option 1.
