Free dog washing event in Tyler to benefit Pets Fur People

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Peltier Subaru is holding a free dog washing event on Saturday and said they will donate $25 for every dog washed to Pets Fur People.

Dollar General donates more than $65,000 to East Texas institutions supporting literacy

The 12th annual Dirty Dog Wash event is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the dealership.

Pets Fur People, a nonprofit, relies on donations for the work they do and is one of the oldest non-kill shelters in East Texas, according to their website.

The nonprofit said they need the public’s help to break their dog-washing record and hope to wash over 250 dogs.

According to a release, microchipping and nail trims will also be offered and they will be accepting donations of old towels during the event.
