The actor claims to be sticking to just one type of film from now on.

Freddie Prinze Jr. will only be making films in the horror genre from now on—at least according to his Twitter account.

"What? Only make horror movies for the rest of my life? Okay fine. Now we'll see what's up won't we," the actor joked in a Tweet on Wednesday, July 27, potentially hinting at an upcoming project.

Prinze Jr. is widely recognized for his role as Ray Bronson in the late 90s slasher film, I Know What You Did Last Summer, which also starred his now-wife Sarah Michelle-Gellar. Prinze Jr. went on to star in the movie's sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, along with returning co-star, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

But Prinze Jr.'s experience with the genre didn't stop there, as he even starred in the live-action Scooby Doo films, which offer doses of horror and mystery in a family-friendly, PG-rated manner. Prinze Jr. mastered the role of Fred Jones in the original film as well as the sequel, Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed, both of which allowed him to act next to his wife again in the role of Daphne Blake.

After his tweet on Wednesday, Prinze Jr.'s followers seemed to be excited by the possibility of seeing the actor in more scary movie content, with one user replying, "I fully support this decision."

One follower asked if there were any plans for the 25th anniversary of I Know What You Did Last Summer, while another person suggested Prinze Jr. and Gellar get the gang back together for an R-rated Scooby Doo movie.

As for Gellar, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum has already gotten back into the supernatural TV industry, with the recent announcement of her casting in the Teen Wolf spinoff on Paramount+, Wolf Pack, which is expected to begin streaming sometime in late 2022.
