Spoilers for Virgin River season four follow.

After nearly two seasons of wondering where Paige is on Virgin River, season four finally delivered some answers—and, perhaps, a conclusion to her character arc.

But first, here's a brief refresher: At the end of season three, Christopher was kidnapped by Vince, the just-as-awful twin brother of Paige’s abusive ex, Wes. Throughout season four, viewers see Preacher grapple with that loss while also trying to move forward with his personal life, including a budding romance with his new aikido teacher, Julia. But soon after it comes to light that Vince is the person who shot Jack, Paige herself returns to the scene. In episode 11, we find out that she’s been living at a women’s shelter in Mendocino, California—and when she learns that Vince has Christopher, she offers herself up as a bargaining chip.

“Preacher, I’m sorry I couldn’t be honest with you, but I know you’d never accept the truth: the only way Christopher will be safe is if I stop running and give Vince what he wants: me,” reads Paige’s letter to Preacher. “Please take care of my boy and when he’s old enough to understand, tell him what happened and how much I love him.” She also tells Preacher that he's the “greatest man" she's ever known.

Fortunately, Preacher and Paige were able to take down Vince during the climactic final minutes of the Virgin River season four finale, so Paige, Christopher, and Preacher are safe! But what does this mean for Paige’s character on the show going forward? Here’s everything you should know about Paige and Lexa Doig, the woman who plays her.

Where Is The Actor Who Plays Paige On Virgin River?

The last time Doig mentioned Virgin River on Instagram was in May 2020, after her on-screen son (Chase Petriw) wished her a happy Mother’s Day to his “film mom.” (Aww!) “Thanks buddy! It helps when you look so much like my son did at your age!!! You and your family stay well little man,” she wrote at the time.

Of course, Doig’s limited presence on Virgin River recently may be due to other roles keeping her busy. Between the release of Virgin River season two, which first saw Paige go on the run, and now, Doig starred as Sally Allison in three Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ Aurora Teagarden Mystery series, which she’s been a part of since 2015. She also joined the cast of Syfy and USA’s Chucky series as Bree Wheeler. Per the series creator, Don Mancini, filming on Chucky season one ended last August, by which time Virgin River season four had already begun production, according to What’s On Netflix. The overlap could potentially explain Paige’s limited screentime in season four.

Is Paige Leaving Virgin River?

By the end of season four, it’s not totally clear whether Vince is dead or just knocked out and about to be arrested, but either way, it looks like Paige and Christopher are indeed safe. Now that the character is no longer on the run, will she be sticking around town?

Unfortunately, this maybe the end of her character arc. Last year, showrunner Sue Tenney told Entertainment Weekly that this installment would “bring everything together with Paige and Preacher, and it's going to come to a very dramatic end at the end of season four.” Note the word “end,” there—Paige, Vince, and Preacher’s dramatic showdown definitely felt like a conclusion of sorts.

Plus, in season four, Preacher expresses his desire to settle down. “When Paige left, I realized what I was missing: someone to share my life with,” he tells Julia in episode 10. “And I saw you, and something told me to take a shot.” Now that Paige and Christopher are safe, it seems that Preacher will finally be able to focus on cultivating his personal life in season five (and, hopefully, beyond).
