Tracee Ellis Ross looked radiant Saturday night at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards, hitting the red carpet at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium in a custom Balmain two-piece. The look featured a floor-length skirt and a structured short-sleeved corset with a sweetheart neckline and gold buttons, plus a black and gold chain bag. But her ensemble wasn’t the only thing that shined.
Ross’s makeup played off of her outfit’s metallic details with a glowing base, courtesy of Christian Louboutin Beauty’s new Teint Fétiche Le Fluide foundation. “Tracee’s custom Balmain was structured and felt very vintage-inspired, so we wanted to keep the face modern and soft,” says makeup artist Molly Greenwald, who created the American Fiction star’s soft glam. “We went for clean, perfected skin with sophisticated intensity around the eyes.”
Greenwald didn’t just apply one layer of the Teint Fétiche—she used a few shades of the foundation, giving brightness and depth to the face to mimic the structure of the Balmain look. “We perfected the skin with a lighter and a darker shade, warming and highlighting where needed, using the Fluid Foundation Brush,” she says. To prep the skin, she used Aēsop B Triple C Facial Brightening Gel, allowing the foundation to provide most of the shine, and just added Aēsop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment on the high points of the cheekbones and nose, for a hydrated highlight.
Since the Teint Fétiche Le Fluide has a luminous matte finish, Greenwald says it was the perfect base for the glowy look that Ross leaned into. Ross was well equipped with a few blotting papers in her purse, Greenwald adds. The star’s lip for the evening was Rouge Louboutin Velvet Matte in beige Very Gil.

Greenwald finished Ross’s face with a rich, almost raspberry-pink blush from Christian Louboutin Beauty’s Abracadabra La Palette, in So Chick, applying it to the front apples of the cheeks for a flushed effect.
As Ross’s complexion was kept luminous, Greenwald created a soft, smoky eye by smudging the creamy Les Yeux Noirs Oeil Velours eye pencil in black around the lash line and topping with coppery eye shadows to add some warmth and depth.
