Fortnite v29.10 Patch Notes: 5 Biggest Changes

After a small update last week, the first major update of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has dropped, and there are a bunch of new goodies in store. A bunch of new and old skins are coming to the store, including some new crossover skins, as well as the build-up to the mid-season Avatar: The Last Airbender event.

We’ll cover all the biggest changes in this update so you can dive in knowing everything important.

Guardians of the Galaxy Skins – Fortnite v29.10

Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, and the Young Adult version of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 are all being added in a big bundle that will be dropping on the item store soon. We don’t know the exact dates yet, but the build will also include 3 back blings, 3 pickaxes, and 2 emotes. Plus, all three skins have LEGO variants.

Fortnite x Avatar: The Last Airbender Build-Up – Fortnite v29.10

The build-up to the big mid-season event has begun. Among other things, this event is set to include an Aang skin as one of the big rewards – similar to how Shredder was the main reward last season – and assets teasing his appearance are showing up. Most notable is the ice plane in which Aang was originally found after a hundred years in stasis. It’s expected that story quests related to this will be added soon.

Korra Secret Skin and Cosmetics – Fortnite v29.10

While it’s still another week before these skins and cosmetics will be obtainable in-game, both pages of rewards for this season’s secret skin have been revealed. Alongside the regular Korra skin, an alternate “Balanced” style has been added. These will have to be unlocked through quests once the event begins.

New Skins – Fortnite v29.10

A selection of new original skins have been added to the game in this update, one of which, Dynamic Hush, is available in the item shop right now. As has been rumored the Fortnite x Nike crossover event is returning soon, and two new skins to do with that have been added as well. Finally, while they can’t be unlocked just yet, all of the Super-Style skins for this season have been added for players who surpass Level 100 before the end of the season.

New Weapons – Fortnite v29.10

A selection of new weapons are joining the game with this update too, although not all of them will be available right away. The added weapons are:

• Hand Cannon (Desert Eagle pistol)

• Midas’ Drum Gun

• Banana of the Gods

• Korra’s Water Bending

Of these, we know the Hand Cannon will be available immediately, and is likely to feature in this week’s set of quests.
