Fortnite Just Got Futurama Skins

Ah Fortnite. The Funko Pop of the video game world. Just about every cultural touchstone you could imagine has made an appearance in Fortnite at one point or another. You can drop into the battlefield dressed as Darth Vader, shotgun your opponents as Rick from Rick and Morty, and even floss as Geralt from The Witcher. If it feels like it never ends, that’s because it doesn’t, but the newest promo skins for Fortnite are very cool at least.

Fortnite was just updated to version 25.20, and with it brought a host of new skins for the game. Specifically, Futurama skins. Yup, the series that has run for almost 25 years, ended three times, and is once again back and streaming on Hulu — or Disney+, if you’re outside of the US.

The new season kicked off earlier this week, with an episode that was mostly fine but nothing particularly special. Of course, that’s reason enough to celebrate with a Fortnite crossover, and here we are, with new character skins, gliders, emotes, weapons, and more.

The three new character skins are purchasable in the in-game item shop with V-Bucks, and include skins for Fry, Leela, and Bender. Each of them have alternate skins based on the episode The Farnsworth Parabox (one of the best Futurama episodes of all time), and there’s a few themed accessories, like Nibbler and of course, Hypnotoad.

There’s also a new glider, themed after the Planet Express ship, and an emote that is very much evocative of Zoidberg. In addition, you’ll also find Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun, named after the robot’s very PG catchphrase, as rare ground loot on the map. It’s a pretty effective weapon, and has infinite ammo, but it can overheat if you’re too trigger happy with it.

The Fortnite 25.20 patch notes also include a few new other weapons, this time not Futurama-themed, as well as a couple new Reality Augments that should make using some weapons much more interesting. Fortnite version 25.20 is available to download now on all platforms.
