Fortnite 26.30 Patch Notes: 5 Biggest Changes

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 gets its third major content update and as you may have expected, this time it’s all about the annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares. This event gives us plenty of spooky tricks and treats to play around with in the battle royale and a unique mode outside of it that we only get to try out once a year.

Whether this is your first Fortnitemares event or you’re a returning customer, here’s everything coming in Fortnite 26.30.

Wood Stake Shotgun – Fortnite 26.30

Kado Thorne is a vampire NPC boss that you can take out at the Eclipse Estate on the island, but you’ll need a special weapon to defeat them. That’s where the Wood Stake Shotgun comes in handy, dealing additional damage to vampires. Thorne will drop another new weapon, the Vampiric Blade, if defeated.

Along with them, the Pumpkin Launcher and the Witch Broom have been unvaulted. These serve as spooky versions of the Rocket Launcher and Rocket Ram respectively.

Sanguine Sweets – Fortnite 26.30

As well as weapons, the classic Fortnitemares sweets have been unvaulted. You can find these all over the place for the next few weeks, and like before, each one will offer special effects like restoring health, giving you infinite sprint, or even a low gravity effect.

Fortnitemares quests and rewards – Fortnite 26.30

This event comes with a bunch of different quests to complete, with new ones being revealed each day and available to complete until November 3, 2023. There are a host of rewards for doing them too:

• Complete 5 quests – Bat Royale back bling and Cat banner icon

• Complete 15 quests – Sweet! Emote, Phantasmic Fall contrail, and Hypno-Bat Spray

• Complete 25 quests – Revenant Rider glider, Within the Sanctum loading screen, and Rise of the Revenant lobby track

Horde Rush – Fortnite 26.30

Just like in previous years, you can play Horde Rush mode until November 3, 2023. As the name suggests you can play with friends to ward of waves of enemies as best you can in order to work your way to the final boss. This also has quests with the following rewards:

• Compete 1 quest – The Mur wrap

• Complete 4 quests – Heart-O-Lantern emoticon

• Complete 7 quests – Batwing Bonespiker pickaxe

New and returning skins – Fortnite 26.30

Halloween outfits from previous years are returning to the shop for Fortnitemares 2023. Namely:

• Seth

• Bogstick

• Phantom Meowscles

• Festival Phaedra

But there are a bunch of brand-new crossover skins hitting the store too.

Jack Skellington Fortnite skin

The star of the Nightmare Before Christmas is making his Fortnite debut with both his default outfit and Santa getup as an alternate costume. He also comes with his sled as a glider, Peppermint Parasol as a pickaxe, and a unique emote.

Michael Myers Fortnite skin

A classic slasher villain joins the game aswell this spooky season, with Halloween monster Michael Myers dropping later in the Fortnitemares event.

Alan Wake Fortnite skin

To coincide with the release of Alan Wake 2 this October, the titular character himself is being added to the Fortnite item shop during the Fortnitemares event, plus some new accessories in the “Waking Nightmare” set.
