Fort Collins earns spot on USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards best beer cities list

Beer lovers, this one is for you. Fort Collins' vibrant beer culture earned it a spot on the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards best beer cities in the U.S. list.

The Choice City was named No. 4.

"With more than 20 craft breweries, Fort Collins punches well above its weight when it comes to beer," the list proclaimed. "This city of only 168,000 houses the nationally renowned heavyweight New Belgium as well as smaller, award-winning breweries such as Odell, Funkwerks, and Equinox. In fact, Fort Collins produces 70% of Colorado’s craft beer."

Now, if you're a local beer-lover wondering which cities could possibly beat a place known as the "Napa Valley of Beer" by some, settle in. Here's who took the top three slots:

  • No. 1: Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • No. 2: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

  • No. 3: Columbus, Ohio

The cities on the list were "selected by an expert panel and voted by our readers as the 10 best beer cities for hosting the most outstanding beer scenes in the nation," according to the list.
