Formula 1 Is Releasing Race Car-Inspired Perfumes — for $10,000 Each

Have you ever thought to yourself, I want to smell like a race-car driver, and I have $10,000 to spend? If so, Formula 1 is here to make your dreams come true.

The racing organization is entering the beauty game with three new fragrances made in collaboration with Designer Parfums. According to a press release, the scents were created to commemorate the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

So far, there's far more detail on what the perfume bottles look like than the actual scents inside those bottles. The three collectors-edition bottles were designed by Ross Lovegrove, an industrial designer known more for chairs and staircases than beauty products. His sculptural bottles are named Agile Embrace, Fluid Symmetry, and Compact Suspension, and they take inspiration from the inner workings of racecars. Each bottle is 3D-printed, adding even more mechanical quality to the design.

Dilesh Mehta, chairman and CEO of Designer Parfums, gave some insight into the project in a statement. "We are leveraging the sport’s heritage and principles to build a unique fragrance brand that merges a highly legitimate approach to the perfume world with the core values of Formula 1," he said. "Being the first fragrance brand to utilize 3D printing is a huge achievement, and we look forward to pushing this even further in future years when we will offer consumers the ability to create their own customized designs."

The scents will be available in March 2020, which gives you plenty of time to start saving now.
