This year may as well be called the Season of the Swifties, because Taylor Swift seems to be everywhere. Whether she's performing in her iconic Eras tour or cheering on her beau Travis Kelce, the spotlight follows wherever she goes. Some my find her publicity a bit overdone, but her fans have never been happier. Besides, music has the power to heal and bring people together, and Swifties are pros at using music to make life a little more magical. Just ask new dog mom Courtney!

After coming across a shelter dog with a name that's also a Taylor Swift song, Courtney immediately drove to the shelter to meet and adopt her. On December 13, just five days after adopting Willow, the new owner posted the sweetest update about the newly adopted pup and her Swift-filled morning routine. Needless to say, people are loving it!

Aww! Willow looks as snug as a bug in a rug in that plush dog bed. The music is the perfect relaxing vibe for an easygoing morning, too, and it's safe to say that this former shelter dog is living her best life. In fact, she's living every Swiftie's best life!

"Her nervous system is getting a rest," pointed out commenter @laurinspires. "We love to see a dog in her healing era!" I know exactly what you mean. It's so heartwarming to see a rescue dog finally relaxing in their forever home, especially when you know just how lengthy (but special!) this decompression period can be. It could take several weeks, or even months, for this Staffordshire Terrier to feel rested and rejuvenated enough to become more energetic and playful. Of course, there's always the chance that she'll stay this mellow as she adjusts, too. Dogs sleep for most of the day as it is, and no two pups are the same.

How Long Does it Take for Rescue Pets to Adjust?

As important as it is to understand what to expect before bringing home a shelter pet, it's also important to know that no two dogs are the same. Flexibility and patience are essential to a smooth adjustment, whether you stick with a comfortable routine for a little longer or change sleeping arrangements to help your pup feel safe.

In general, though, pet experts recommend that potential adopters learn about the 3-3-3 rule. This rule explains how long it can take for a rescue pet to reach certain milestones in their new home. By the 3-day mark, for example, an animal should begin to feel safe enough to start showing themselves and interacting with their home in minimal ways. For the first 3 weeks, your newly adopted dog will start to show their true personality as they test boundaries and get used to a new routine. But by 3 months, your buddy should be fully acclimated and getting the hang of daily habits. You'll probably be bonding a lot more with your pet by this point, too!

If this is how @courtneyci and Willow are within five days of meeting, I can't wait to see how they'll be a few months from now. But one thing is for sure--they're already living the dream!
