Former NY Giants Player Korey Cunningham Found Dead at 28

Former New York Giants football player Korey Cunningham has died. He was 28 years old.

The pro athlete was found deceased in his Clifton, New Jersey home on Thursday, April 25, according to TMZ.

Cunningham was reportedly discovered with fatal injuries which were said to be "self-inflicted," per NJ's local RLS Media, however, an official cause of death has yet to be properly investigated, determined, or publicly announced.

On Friday, April 26, the sports organization confirmed his passing, sharing a heartfelt sentiment on the day after the 2024 NFL draft about the loss of their former player.

"We are saddened to hear of the passing of Korey Cunningham," the Giants' statement read. "He was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room. Our thoughts are with Korey’s family, friends and teammates."

The offensive tackle also played for the Cardinals and the Patriots at different points in his career, playing a total of 31 NFL games since being drafted in 2018.

The former Cincinnati Bearcat was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 7th round of the 2018 NFL Draft and traded to the Patriots a year later before signing with the Giants in 2021.

Football aside, according to his social media activity, Cunningham also enjoyed hunting and fishing, where he shared several photos of himself with his catches.

Just days before his death, he had uploaded footage showing off a huge tractor with a turkey he'd hunted propped up on the front tire of the vehicle.
