The murder trial of former Family Feud contestant Timothy W. Bliefnick is underway.

Footage of Bliefnick joking that getting married was a mistake during his episode of the popular game show may be used against him, as the 39-year-old is accused of killing his estranged wife, Rebecca Bliefnick.

Timothy pleaded "not guilty" following his March 14 arrest for the Feb. 23 killing, but he's accused of shooting the 41-year-old mother of three over a dozen times in what looked like a home invasion.

During his time on the show in 2020, host Steve Harvey asked the contestant, "What's the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?"

"Honey, I love you, but," he clarified to the camera. "Said 'I do.'" As the audience audibly reacted and Harvey stared him down, Timothy doubled down, elaborating, "Not my mistake! Not my mistake, I love my wife."

Now, authorities say his phone history shows searches for things like, "How to open my door with a crowbar," and "How to make a homemade pistol silencer."

The couple was in the middle of a contentious divorce when Rebecca, who went by Becky, was killed. Police say that the home was accessed using a crowbar.

Becky's sister, Sarah Reilly, shared text messages from the victim in court in which she revealed that she was scared of her soon-to-be ex-husband, noting suspicion that he may try to "do something" to her.

The couple married in 2009 and had separated a few years prior to her death. Either Becky or a local domestic violence agency on her behalf filed a restraining order against Timothy, as well as her father-in-law, according to public records that have since been sealed, as previously reported by Parade.

Timothy is charged with first-degree murder and home invasion.
