The 'DWTS' veteran is a fan-favorite to replace former judge Len Goodman.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy left Dancing With The Stars in 2017, but he could make a return to the popular reality competition series in a new role.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Chmerkovskiy's wife and fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd revealed that she thinks her husband would be interested in returning to the show as a judge following Len Goodman's exit.

"Of course. He would love that," Murgatroyd said when the publication brought up fan calls for Chmerkovskiy to take the former judge's spot. "I don't know. I think that's his next step."

She added, "I think that he’s born to do that stuff. He loves to talk. You know Maks, he will talk your ear off."

She also thinks Chmerkovskiy would love to judge on the series.

"He will give you advice. He will, like, lecture you. That’s the type of guy he is," she said. "He’s got so much passion behind what he says, and I think that that’s, you know, the perfect spot for him. But we’ll see."

In a recent interview with Bella Mag, Chmerkovskiy also talked about the possibility of rejoining the show, albeit in his original position as a pro.

He explained, "Well, my wife is on it, my brother is on it, and my sister-in-law is on it. I feel like I’ll be waiting until one of our kids is joining it, like 20 years from now! I’m in perfect health and I try to stay that way for whatever comes at me."

Chmerkovskiy continued, "If Dancing With The Stars comes to me and says, 'We want you as a pro. Let’s go back to shake that tail feather one more time,' I’m in. I’m definitely shaking it in other ways and on other platforms, but I have not danced my last dance yet, let’s just put it that way."

Only time will tell if he'll be hitting the dance floor in one way or another next season!
