Former 'Dead Space' Developers Unveil 'The Callisto Protocol' Gameplay Trailer

With the Dead Space remake well underway over at Motive Studios and EA, a group of the original game's former developers who moved over to Striking Distance Studios has now also released the very first gameplay trailer of their latest passion project: The Callisto Protocol. From the trailer, the game very much plays like a spiritual successor to Dead Space, putting players in the shoes of a lone protagonist who finds himself trapped in a prison colony named Black Iron on Jupiter's moon Callisto in the year 2320.

Jacob Lee (played by Josh Duhamel) will have to fight off an alien invasion that seems to have been engineered by the prison's warden. The game features very similar weapons to the Dead Space franchise including his main gun that acts pretty much just like Isaac's Plasma Cutter, but Jacob also possesses telekinesis powers that'll allow you to manipulate your environment to your advantage.

Available later this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, The Callisto Protocol will arrive on December 2.

Elsewhere in gaming, a new Aliens single-player tactical strategy game has been announced.
