Former CNN correspondent Brooke Baldwin is the host of Netflix's newest reality show, The Trust: A Game of Greed.

On January 10, the first four episodes of The Trust will be available to stream on Netflix, and new episodes will air weekly over a three-week period, with twelve episodes total.

"In this game, everyone starts as winners and they can all leave as winners—if they choose to share," the streaming platform states in its synopsis of the greed-centric show.

The gist: Eleven strangers come together to play a game where they can all split evenly $250,000 (a.k.a. a quarter of a million dollars). But will the players each take their fair share, or will they take a risk and try to get more money?

Taking her anchor skills to the world of reality TV, Brooke will take viewers along for the ride to see if contestants of The Trust will come out on top together—or if greed will tear them apart.

She said that her goal was to focus on "amplifying the lives of extraordinary Americans and putting my passion for storytelling to good use," and that alongside the release of her book, there was "more I need to do outside of the walls of this place."

In a 2021 interview on the Ms. Magazine podcast, the former anchor spoke up about how she had to fight for women's stories in such a male-dominated outlet. "The most influential anchors on our network, the highest-paid, are men. My bosses, my executives, are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer for 10 years is a man. So I’ve been surrounded by a lot of men,” she said, per the NY Post.

She filed for a divorce from her husband in 2023.

Brooke and British film producer James Fletcher got married in May 2018 at Liberty Farms in New York, a year after getting engaged, according to The Sun. They dated two years prior to their engagement and allegedly met at a holiday party, the outlet reported.

In February 2023, Brooke announced that she and Fletcher were divorcing in a statement on Instagram. "After nearly five years of marriage, with love and respect, James and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she said. "Our time together has been some of the most precious, defining, and awakening years of my life. I wish him nothing but the best as he begins this new chapter.”

"It's never easy to end a relationship with someone you love, but that does not always mean ending it is the wrong thing to do," she continued. "There is nothing scandalous or salacious about this decision. We are simply two people who tried our best to make our union work, but ultimately realized our individual paths were taking us on different journeys and the healthiest thing for both of us is to honor that."
