Charlie Newling, a former contestant on The Bachelorette Australia, has tragically died just weeks after welcoming his second child.

Newling, just 36 years old, was known for his appearance on Ali Oetjen's season of The Bachelorette's Australian spinoff back in 2018.

The former reality star reportedly died on Saturday, Sep. 9 after his car fell from a cliff in Dover Heights in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs around 11 p.m., according to the Daily Mail.

Emergency responders arrived at Raleigh Reserve after being contacted by locals who found his car on fire at the bottom of the cliff, which is approximately 76 yards high.

Newling's death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report is currently being prepared for the coroner.

As reported by the publication, Newling's untimely passing comes just eight weeks after he welcomed his second child, a daughter, with partner Kristal Taylor.

He also has a 13-year-old son from a previous relationship.

As fans of The Bachelorette Australia will remember, Newling was initially considered to be a frontrunner on the show, even being dubbed "Mr. Perfect" by some viewers.

But he was later eliminated from the show after he refused to introduce Oetjen to his family during hometown visits until they were "exclusive."

After leaving the show, Newling was involved in a series of troubling incidents, including a scuffle at the Golden Sheaf pub in Sydney, where he was forcibly removed by security guards.

According to the New York Post, Newling was convicted of low-range drunk driving in 2021, and in August 2022, he was charged with using a carriage service to make threats, after he allegedly sent 37 text messages to his mother and is said to have threatened harm to her husband.

During the trial, his lawyer insisted that his client had struggled with alcohol abuse. It was also noted by the judge that Newling had suffered childhood trauma, after his biological father became a paraplegic when he was a teenager. His father later died in 2018 from an overdose of pain medication.

In September of 2022, Newling received a 13-month prison sentence to be served in the community through an intensive correction order.
