New Forever Stamp Designs from USPS Feature Working Military Dogs

The United States Postal Service announced last week that their newest Forever Stamp design will feature working military dogs. While the stamps aren’t available yet, USPS released a design preview featuring some very good dogs and we can’t wait to use them.

These Forever Stamps—which went up in price after last month’s USPS service rate increase—have red and blue backgrounds with the image of a white star and a military working dog. The stamps feature the four most common breeds of military dogs: German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retriever, and Dutch Shepherd.

According to the USPS press release, the red, white and blue stamps were designed to represent the American flag and patriotism, in honor of the service given by the military dogs. Greg Breeding, the art director for DKNG Studios, designed the stamps.

The Military Working Dogs collection is one of five updates to the 2019 Stamp Program that were announced last Tuesday. Other designs include a star ribbon design, a painting of Maureen Connolly Brinker, an Ellsworth Kelly art collection, and a Transcontinental Railroad design—but we’re most excited to add these brave pups to our snail mail. We’re definitely using this as an excuse to send more letters!

The Military Working Dogs stamps aren’t available for purchase yet, and the USPS hasn’t announced a release date yet, but we’re hoping to see them for sale soon.
