Ford’s New Mach-E Mustang Bronze Is Its Fastest Electric Model Yet

Sometimes there’s more to an appearance package than initially meets the eye.

Just look at the new 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Bronze variant. At first, it may seem as if the Detroit automaker just added some bronze details to its muscular EV, but it’s also available with an optional performance package that takes things up a notch.

As far as appearance packages go this one is pretty slick. Ford has added just the right amount of bronze accents to the Mustang Mach-E, improving the looks of an already attractive vehicle. These include a bronze version of the EV’s faux front grille, color-matching badging, and a set of 20-inch aluminum multi-spoke wheels that have been painted in “Sinister Bronze.” No details about or photos of the interior have been released, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see splashes of sparkling hue pop up there as well. Initial images of the variant show it finished in Eruption Green—which looks both sporty and sophisticated—but it will also be available in Shadow Black and the cumbersomely named Star White Metallic Tri-Coat.

The most intriguing aspect of the package is what you can’t see, though. Ford hasn’t announced details yet, but the variant will be available with an optional performance upgrade. We don’t know the details yet, but Ford says the modifications will make the variant the quickest Mustang Mach-E. Currently, that distinction belongs to the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance. That crossover has a dual-motor powertrain—with one positioned on each axle, giving it all-wheel drive—that produces 480 hp and can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Range isn’t great, coming in at 235 miles, but most people don’t opt for a performance upgrade with efficiency in mind. The 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT will also come with MagneRide Damping System and red-painted Brembo brake calipers standard.

Intrigued by the glitzy new addition to the Mustang Mach-E family? Ford will start taking orders for it and other 2024 editons of the EV later this winter. Pricing for the Mustang Mach-E GT with the extended range battery and the Bronze appearance package will start at $60,990. Expect the performance upgrade, whenever it’s officially announced, to add to that price.
