Forbes' List of the 25 Best Cities for Pet Owners Comes with Some Surprises
Where do you think the most pet-friendly city is?
Ask any pet owner--the annual cost of owning an animal is getting more and more expensive. Pet food is costly, veterinary care is almost unaffordable, and it can be hard to find pet-friendly places to live. Fortunately, though, some cities make it a bit easier to be a pet parent.
Forbes Advisor recently released its list of the 25 best cities for pet owners in the United States, and I have to admit--I was surprised by a lot of the towns on this list. They're not what I would've guessed!

When compiling this list Forbes Advisor compared a few major metrics: "dog veterinary cost, cat veterinary cost, veterinary access, and pet-friendly spaces." The cities on this list make up the 91 most populated cities in the United States, so if you live in a small town, you won't find it here!

Are you surprised? At first, I sure was! When I started to look through the factors that make each city so pet-friendly, though, it started to make sense. Tuscon, for example, tops the list with high access to veterinary care, as well as lower vet care costs compared with other cities. In addition, over 80% of apartments in this city welcome pets.
Nashville, which is third on the list, boasts the third lowest cost of canine and feline healthcare in the country. Each of the cities on this list have its own reasons for being so pet-friendly, and they're certainly worth a little research. Maybe you'll discover the next place you and your furry friends will live.
