Footage of Baby Manatee Clinging To Her Mama Couldn't Be More Precious

Mama manatees, known as cows, play a crucial role in the care and protection of their offspring. Manatee moms are vigilant and protective of their calves, keeping a close watch on them to prevent potential threats like those from predators and boats.

This footage captured by TikTok user @Riverdaddy_ of a baby manatee clinging to its mama couldn't be any more beautiful.

One of the sweetest facts about this mama and baby relationship is that manatees have been observed to maintain long-term bonds between the mamas and their kids. Even after weaning, calves may stay close to their mothers for extended periods of time and cling to them. TikTok users are loving this precious pair and @Amanda comments, "Manatees really are the purest animals ever." @Esther adds, "Using all of my mental power to hug them telepathically." LOL, that's about as close as you can get, because hugging or disturbing manatees in any way is illegal. @Ginger responds with, "I would need my own stuffed manatee animal to hug and squeeze so I don't get charged with trying to hug a real manatee. I just want to love them." They really are such beautiful, gentle creatures. @Gracie hilariously replies, "I will now be crying for the next 3- 5 business days (I am 7 months pregnant)." Awwwww!
