Foot Locker’s Biggest Store in Singapore Has a Basketball Court, ‘Widest Selection’ of Nike Air Max Plus Sneakers + More

At the heart of Singapore’s retail epicenter, shoppers will find a Foot Locker store unlike any other.

The specialty athletic chain has opened its biggest outpost in the country at the Orchard Gateway @ Emerald center on Orchard Road. The five-story space — three floors of which are dedicated to retail — combines experiential elements, like in-store presentations, with the company’s broad selection of athletic merchandise. However, assortment at this particular outpost, notes the company, is focused on youth, basketball and sneaker culture.

Inside, customers are greeted by a few specially commissioned murals by local artists MessyMsxi and Clogtwo. One of those artworks can be found on a floor where Foot Locker has housed a basketball half-court, where shoppers are invited to engage in play.

What’s more, the shop houses apparel and footwear from the retailer’s brand partners like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Converse and New Balance, as well as streetwear labels such as Chinatown Market, Rip N Dip, Daily Paper and Yeti. As it seeks to serve a “sneaker-obsessed community,” Foot Locker said the location houses the “widest selection of Nike Air Max Plus available in market.”

In a statement, the company’s GM and VP of Asia, Tomas Petersson, said, “This is where we embarked on our Asia journey, and Singapore has really embraced our brand out of the gate. Our purpose is to inspire and empower youth culture, and our belief is that when we speak to the consumer through the lens of curated brand and product stories via our omnichannel focus, then we connect deeply with the sneaker and sport community.”

He added, “The Orchard Road store is a pinnacle expression of our brand together with our partners, and we are especially proud as a team to deliver this in these challenging times, as this will give the Singaporean consumer a truly unique experience.”

Foot Locker currently has 3,129 stores in 27 countries across North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Its portfolio of brands includes Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay, Footaction, Runners Point and Sidestep.
