Fondy Food Truck Festival brings about 36 food trucks, music and family-friendly activities to Oven Island May 26

FOND DU LAC – Food trucks are about to swarm Fond du Lac, taking care of lunch, dinner and dessert plans Memorial Day weekend.

The Fondy Food Truck Festival will run 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 26 at Oven Island and the surrounding area in Lakeside Park, sponsored by Friends of Lakeside Park.

Here's what to expect.

Food trucks feature favorites from Fond du Lac and beyond

The park will host about 36 food trucks, ranging between barbecue, tacos, crepes and ice cream.

Some trucks from the Fond du Lac area include the Chameleon, Big Blue Yummy, Mila Vanilla Crepes, Say Cheese Curds Co. and Fanna's on the Fly.

The variety of trucks also includes Kickin Ash BBQ, Caribbean Taste, Tasty Thai, Romero's Taco Truck, Inferno Heat Hibachi, Legendary Gyros, Zouas Fresh Egg Rolls, The Cookie Crate and freeze-dried candy truck Tria Frog Treats.

The Fondy Softball Association will offer soda, canned beer and seltzers.

Classic rock offered in live music entertainment

Fond du Lac classic rock and country band The Groove Kats will play from noon to 4 p.m.

New family-friendly activities for 2024

Among the activities offered throughout the park, two newcomers will join the festivities: Jolly Giant Stiltwalkers and balloon twist animals.

Other kid-friendly activities include bounce houses and face painting.

Activities also include demonstrations from area organizations

Animal lovers will be able to find representatives from Fond du Lac Humane Society, Critter Junction Small Pet Rescue, Sandi Paws Dog Rescue and Whisper Hills Clydesdales Special Needs.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue will also be at the festival, as well as the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office with its dive trailer and armored vehicle and the Fond du Lac Police Department with a squad car and radar toss game.

Friends of Lakeside Park will offer $1 water, as well as an all-day 50/50 raffle.
