This flower tunnel in Japan looks like a scene straight out of a fairytale
It’s hard NOT to get excited about the re-appearance of flowers after a long, cold, winter, but this garden in Japan is taking that feeling to the next level – with tunnels of thousands of wisteria blossoms.
The Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan, boasts more than 150 different kinds of wisteria plants among 20 other species of flowers. The wisteria tunnel, however, is the crown jewel of the garden.
Visitors can walk underneath a full canopy of blooming, purple wisteria blossoms, which undoubtedly resembles something from a fairytale or fantasy world.

And if you think you’ve missed out on the phenomenon this year, don’t worry: The tunnel isn’t even in bloom yet. Late April to mid-May is the peak time to view the blooms, so best be booking your flight over to Japan now.

Japan is also home to a number of “wisteria festivals” in the Spring. The festival in Ashikaga Flower Park begins April 15th. So many reasons to spend spring in Japan!
