Flower Festival: Free events April 27 at Grace Lutheran in Oak Ridge

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 131 W. Gettysburg Ave., Oak Ridge, will hold its sixth annual Flower Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

The theme is “Caring for God’s Creation.”

The festival includes a plant exchange in the pavilion, children's activities, a show by Grace Photographers, floral displays throughout the church, a music program at 11 a.m., a free luncheon (donations accepted), a silent auction, and so much more.

Arissa Garden Club will feature flower arrangements coordinated with colorful banners. Anderson County Master Gardeners and the Oak Ridge Public Library’s seed exchange will be highlighted.

Flower Guild members will be decorating the church with flowers. The luncheon program will feature readings by some of the area’s top poets. Door prizes will be available.

The Silent Auction includes a variety of handcrafted items, such as a hand-tied quilt by Lorraine Huynh; Hugh Bailey and Carol Donath pottery; paintings; scarves and hats; wood carving pieces, and other crafts by local artisans.

Everyone is invited and admission is free.

Each Sunday, Grace holds a contemporary service at 9 a.m. and a traditional service at 11:15 a.m. Both services are live streamed on YouTube and archived on Grace’s website. Christian education for all ages starts at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rosalina Rivera is pastor.
