High-speed rail company Brightline will add a brand-new stop along Florida’s Treasure Coast in the company’s latest expansion.

The new station will be located in Stuart, Florida, and is expected to open in the second half of 2026, Brightline shared with Travel + Leisure. The company said the city, which sits just north of another Brightline station in West Palm Beach, was chosen due to its location, physical characteristics, and “ease with which the site will integrate into Brightline’s existing rail infrastructure network.”

“We’ve seen significant demand and support for a Brightline Station in the Treasure Coast which was evident during this process,” Brian Kronberg, Brightline’s senior vice president of development and construction, said in a statement shared with T+L. “It was a difficult decision and we’re grateful for everyone’s support and efforts to make this happen.”

The new station will offer travelers yet another stop between Miami and Orlando, a route Brightline opened last year.

The rail company first launched in 2018 with service between West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, but has since expanded, adding service to Aventura and Boca Raton in addition to Orlando.

The new station will be about 40 minutes by train from West Palm Beach and drop guests within walking distance of downtown Stuart as well as minutes away from the area’s beaches, according to the company.

Stuart Mayor Becky Brunner said the decision to add a new stop in the city “marks a historic return to our roots and fulfills a vision held by Stuart for over 30 years, offering residents and visitors alike a first-class journey to Stuart, away from the congestion of highways.”

This isn’t Brightline’s only expansion plans. Beyond Florida, the rail company is starting work in southern California to create a rail corridor connecting the state with Las Vegas. That project, called Brightline West, will eventually connect Sin City with the Los Angeles area over more than 200 miles.
