Florence Pugh and Zach Braff Still ‘Love Each Other,’ Says Her Ex, Zach Braff

Zach Braff is not done singing ex-girlfriend Florence Pugh’s praises.

During another round of press for their joint project, A Good Person, the 48-year-old actor and director revealed that he and 27-year-old Pugh still “love each other” despite their breakup in 2022. Now that it's been a year since their split went public, Braff opened up about the current status of their friendship on a new episode of SiriusXM’s The Happy Hour, which aired on TODAY Show Radio on December 15.

“Well, we love each other, and I just think—listen, I just think she's extraordinary and that’s not BS or blowing smoke," he told cohosts Talia Parkinson and Donna Farizan. “We're friends and I root for her, and I just think that she's so talented. And yeah, we don't let any of that ex-BS get in the way.”

He continued, “We root for each other. She knew I was on the TODAY Show today, she texted me and said, How'd it go? We're just—we're close. And she's so magical in this film, A Good Person. There's not a single soul that could watch this movie and not come away saying, wow, that is one of the most incredible actresses working today.”

The former couple dated for about four years before Florence Pugh announced their split in August 2022. Though the pair had already been separated for some time, they decided to process their breakup privately due to the intense public criticism surrounding their 21-year age gap. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together," Pugh told Harper's Bazaar. "So we’ve done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”

Well before their split, Florence Pugh addressed negative comments about their relationship during an interview with The Sunday Times. “I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love," she said July 2021. "I would never in my life ever, ever tell someone who they can and cannot love.”
