Florence Pugh Is a Stunning Sugar Plum Fairy in a Sheer Tulle Cape and Lace Slip Dress

At this point, Florence Pugh owns the sheer dress trend. From her braless sheer Valentino crop top to the metallic “naked” dress that shut down the red carpet at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 13th Governors Awards, the Wonder actress has taken the crown for all things see-through in our books.

Florence recently attended the 2022 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate in London, England in a twist on the sheer dress trend. The actress hit the red carpet wearing an elevated evening look (we’re talking full nightgown-and-robe) and looking every bit the glamorous leading lady that she is. The luxe ensemble served some strong "rich housewife" vibes that remind us of Alice Chambers of Don’t Worry, Darling, her most recent film opposite Harry Styles.

Well, we’re not worried, darling, because Miss Flo and her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray always serve up Fashion (with a capital F) at every major event. Florence’s most recent ensemble came courtesy of Rodarte — a silky, light pink dress inspired by vintage slips and nightwear. The midi hem skimmed her ankles with a thigh-high slit up the side of the dress, trimmed with delicate lace that also covered the sheer back. Thin straps and a huge 3D rosette decorated the top of the lingerie-like slip.

“Boudoir baby,” captioned Corbin-Murray. The video that her stylist posted revealed that Florence offset her all-pink look with a deep red manicure and jewelry from Tiffany & Co. The actress wore her hair in a slicked-back style with Old Hollywood waves swirled into her bob.

The real star of the show, however, was Florence’s puffy pink tulle cape that she dramatically swished around while posing for the cameras. The sheer cape boasted a long, cathedral-length train and a fluffy trim that has the sort of opulence that Twitter users referenced in viral tweets about similar robes, with one user writing, "I need this outfit for when the police come and tell me my rich husband died in mysterious circumstances."

Florence has previously spoken out about the self-confidence that she feels in her clothing despite unsolicited criticism that she has received about her outfits, particularly the nipple-exposing Valentino dress that she wore to the designer's fashion show.

"It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be," she wrote on Instagram. "Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14."
